Jannik Sinner Won his third Grand Slam by defeating Alexander Zverev in the Australian Open Men’s Single Grand Finale. He defended his title for the Second Time.
The final match of Australian Open was played between Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev. Jannik Sinner managed to win this match with 6-3, 7-6 (4), 6-3 and also defended his title. This match between the two players lasted for 2 hours and 42 minutes. With this, he managed to win the Australian Open title for the second consecutive time.
This is the third Grand Slam title of his career. He became the youngest player to win this trophy twice in a row after Jim Courier in 1992 and 1993.
Sinner’s strong play, won the final in a one-sided manner
Sinner defeated World number-2 Alexander Zverev. which looked weak against Sinner. From the First Set only Zverev looking weak especially in his serve. Sinner dominated in this Set that he did not give Zverev a single chance to break his serve.
The second set also started in a similar way, where Zverev had to save two break points in the beginning. But this time the Zverev saved his serve and kept himself ready for the tie-break. He gave a tough fight to Sinner at a score of 4-4 in the tie-breaker. But Sinner did his best, winning three consecutive points and finishing the second game comfortably.
At 3-2 in the third set, Sinner got two breaks and converted the first of them to go 4-2 ahead. Zverev saved the first game with a winner down the line but couldn’t save the second. After that, Sinner didn’t look back and won the match comfortably. Sinner didn’t give Zverev a single break chance in the entire match, which shows how dominant he was.
Zverev misfortunes did not favor him here either
Zverev previously reached the finals of the 2020 US Open when he lost to Dominic Thiem at Flushing Meadows and the 2024 French Open, he lost to Carlos Alcaraz at Roland Garros. The wait for the Grand Slam is getting longer for him.
